Tokyo Green’s “Summer in a Glass”, “Tex Mex” and “Disco Lament”, from their new album “Save Your Speeches”, are here to bring soulful instrumental music back to the masses…
The tracks “Summer in a Glass”, “Tex Mex” and “Disco Lament”, from Tokyo Green’s recently released second album “Save Your Speeches”, are a labour of love – painstakingly put together over a 5-year period, recording the music has been a passion project for the band members: Adam Rockley (Drums), Nick Liptrot (Guitar and Bass), Geordie Mackintosh (Guitar and Bass), and Stephen Walls (Guitar, Bass and Keyboards).
Recorded at weekends and on downtime from day-jobs with producer Robin Downe in Sheffield, the tracks were born through a shared love of great music, producing a listening experience which spans many genres and suits many moods.
Formed in Nottinghamshire, England, the members of Tokyo Green have known each other since childhood. The band formed in 2004 and 16 years of performing together has created incredibly tight and close bonds, both personally and musically.
Imagine the soulful grooves of Steely Dan, the duelling guitars of The Allman Brothers Band, and the sweet melodies of Prefab Sprout. The tracks “Summer in a Glass”, “Tex Mex” and “Disco Lament” have been crafted with care, attention and heart, providing a warm and highly melodic soundscape to enjoy.
Few albums will provide such a rich sonic experience. Now is the time for people to enter a soulful instrumental world! For more information, promo requests, or to arrange an interview, contact tokyogreen1@googlemail.com
